Spiritual Direction

Accepting new directees starting September 2025.
In these one-hour one-on-one sessions, you will have the opportunity to present and observe the story of your life. Spiritual Direction is an invitation to intentionally engage with your core self and connect to the source of deepest meaning.

Speaking Engagements

Certified spiritual director Sara Beth Dacombe brings a hopeful take on how to find and create meaning from a spiritual, but non religious point of view. Stemming from her background in Evangelical Christianity, available speaking topics span the branches of deconstruction, contemplative Christianity, gender and sexuality, generational trauma, environmental theology, and other issues of systemic change facing Canadian culture and the Western church.

Memoir Writing

Telling our stories is a powerful tool to find movement and healing on bio-psycho-spiritual levels. Often, the process of remembering, sorting and writing can help unlock feelings of stuckness surrounding personal or collective issues of trauma. As an artform, writing is incredibly subjective but/and it can benefit from a loose framework to encourage both authenticity and creativity. If you are interested in telling your story, accessing voice through memoir writing, or getting professional assistance in writing your family history, watch this space for more information coming soon. (In the meantime, deconstruction stories or other writing submissions to The Prairie Thistle are always welcome.)

Have you have found yourself on the outside of your faith group in some way? If you are looking for a safe space to explore religious deconstruction with likeminded individuals, this group may be for you. Choose from: Open Meetings (a casual group for all, no sign-up required, geared toward building community) or Peer Meetings (a intentionally-small group, geared toward learning from and supporting each other).
